Level 2 Award in working as a Security Officer

This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a security officer. This qualification is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications and is supported by Skills for Security, the standards setting body for the security industry and the SIA, which regulates the private security industry.

Door Supervision Level 2 Award

Under the Private Security Industry Authority Act 2001, all individuals wishing to work in the private security industry must undertake a recognised qualification before applying for a licence.

This means that any person wishing to work as a Door Supervisor, SIA event staff, Security Guard, Security Response Driver or even Retail Security will need to attend an approved course before being able to apply for an SIA licence.

CCTV Operations

Level 2 Award in CCTV Operations
(Public Space Surveillance)

The Level 2 Award in CCTV Operations has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications and provides the learner with the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for an SIA licence and work as a CCTV Operative.

This qualification can enable the learner to progress onto the NVQ in Providing Security Services or undertake further learning in other areas of the private security industry.

Close Protection Training Course

Protect Training are proud to introduce our enhanced Close Protection training course which will allow you the opportunity to obtain the UK SIA licence.

The course is delivered over 16 consecutive days and incorporates 150 guided learning hours, the
course is progressive in its nature and provides the student enhanced reflective learning. We aim to
cover the theory behind each module and protection as a whole before progressing to the practical
aspects. Each module leads to the next, starting with you as an individual protection operative and then building on the elements of team work.

Door SuperviSORS TOP-UP

AWARD FOR Door SuperviSORS TOP-UP Qualification

In March 2012 the SIA announced the intention to require existing door supervisors who had achieved the pre-QCF Door Supervision qualification (for example the National Certificate for Door Supervision) to undertake additional training in order to renew their licence. This upskill / top-up training was then replaced in 2021 by more effective and suitable training topics, to suit the evolving changes within the industry.

Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events (RQF)

This qualification is aimed at individuals who wish to work as a steward in the Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being sector. This may include events such as sports, music festivals, concerts, parades or carnivals. It covers how to prepare for events, control entry and exit of customers, identify and deal with crowd problems and respond to emergencies.
